Question: How can I maintain the finish on my purchase?
Answer: My creations are meant to be used. However, special care needs to be taken to ensure that the wood remains protected. The finishes that are mentioned above are hard waxes and polymerizing oils. Each does and excellent job at protecting the wood and bringing out its natural beauty but can wear away with use and need to be periodically reconditioned to maintain the original luster of the finish. Luckily this is very easy to do yourself, as I’ll explain below. But first, here’s a few tips to keeping your purchase looking like new.
Refreshing the finish on your purchase is quick and easy. Though there are many products available that will do the job, I recommend using Odie’s Oil for reconditioning wood finishes. Simply use a small piece of cotton cloth to rub on a very thin coat all over the wood surface. Once the wood has been completely covered, wipe off all of the excess with a clean cotton towel. Next, give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. Now take a break because you deserve it.
